Dining

  • The Te Rairoa Restaurant features a wide awning and an outdoor terrace by the pool. The chef creates a menu based on Polynesian traditions and international dishes using fresh local ingredients, daily catch seafood, tropical fruits and spices - from traditional Tahitian-style raw fish to local desserts with honey and Tahaa vanilla. Discover a new gastronomic world of tastes and aromas! The restaurant also offers vegetarian dishes.
  • The Miki Miki Bar is mounted on stilts above the magnificent Rangiroa Lagoon. The terrace offers breathtaking views of the lagoon. It’s an ideal place for fun and romantic moments. Miki Miki has a selection of tropical cocktails, the famous local Hinano beer and signature mixes.

Island excursions

The hotel offers different options for travelling around the island: on bicycles, scooters, electric cars and cars. Visit the Avatoru Catholic Church, a colourful market with souvenirs and goodies and stroll through the local streets.

Wine cellars

Fine wines are made from grapes grown on the coral islets of Rangiroa. Nowhere else except here you will see vineyards among coconut trees. Since 1992, two grape varieties have been cultivated on tropical plantations - Carignan and Muscat de Hamburg. Harvesting is twice a year - in summer and winter - to produce white and rosé wines. Indulge in the pleasure of tasting unique local wines!

Diving and boat trips

Rangiroa Island is one of the best dive sites in the world. Dolphins, stingrays, grey sharks and many other species live in warm waters all year round. The Top Dive Diving Centre is situated right on the hotel territory, and diving boats depart from the resort’s pontoon. Go for incredible experiences!

Tiputa Pass, a natural strait about 200 metres wide, between the islands of Avatoru and Tiputa, is about 10 minutes away from Kia Ora. Plankton-rich waters attract many marine inhabitants in these places. Tiputa Pass is one of the best dive spots in the world where you can watch many sea animals - manta rays, Napoleon fish, hammer sharks and many other species of sharks and tropical fish. The highlight, of course, is the wild dolphins, which vividly and spectacularly jump out of the water without fear of boats.

Water excursions

The resort offers every opportunity to fully enjoy the picturesque Rangiroa. The Blue Lagoon is approximately an hour’s drive away. You can also visit Reef Island or Pink Sand Beach, explore the splendour of the sea world and watch various tropical fish, sharks, stingrays and dolphins during a snorkelling trip or a jet ski tour.

Poekura Spa

The name of Poekura Spa in Tahitian means “pearl of light”. It is situated in the heart of a coconut grove and offers a wide range of beauty treatments and rituals.

There are two massage bungalows with double cabins and a Vaimiti area with a rain shower. Enjoy oriental, Balinese or hot stone massage, after-sun care, scrubs, foot reflexology, beauty treatments and traditional Polynesian massage - taurumi.

Each wellness treatment includes products of the popular Sothys brands or oils from the exclusive Poekura Spa range, created with such ingredients as monoi, tamanu, vanilla, coconut, mango and passion fruit. Monoi oil and tamanu are available for purchase at Poekura Spa. The Spa is open daily from 10:30 to 19:00.

How to get: Kia Ora Resort & Spa is conveniently situated on the northeast coast of the island, a few kilometres away from the airport. You can get to the resort in 15 minutes by car or bus.
