Kudadoo Maldives Private Island

Island size: about 200 m in diameter.
Number of residences: 15.
Atoll: Lhaviyani.

Transfer: about 40 minutes by seaplane.

Kudadoo occupies such a small island that its scale is immediately noticeable: it is literally only a few minutes' walk from the main area to any point on the coast. At the same time, the residential part was not made denser - all 15 residences are built over the lagoon, so the land itself remains almost completely free. This format offers a rare combination for the Maldives of a very small island and plenty of personal space.

The island has a restaurant, spa and common relaxation areas, while guests can spend most of their time between their residence, the lagoon and marine activities. Kudadoo is a compact resort without roads, bicycles or the feeling of a large resort complex.

Kandolhu Maldives

Island size: 150 × 200 m.

Transfer: 25 minutes by seaplane + a short speedboat ride.

Kandolhu can literally be walked around in just a few minutes. At the same time, its compact size does not mean dense development: the island has villas in five different categories, some directly by the beach and some over the water.

The main advantage of this size is especially noticeable by the sea. The house reef surrounds the island and is only a few metres from the shore, with special snorkeling channels provided for access. Even the restaurant infrastructure is unexpectedly varied for such a small resort: there are five restaurants with different concepts and a bar.

Despite its small area, Kandolhu does not feel like a place where the entire holiday has to be spent between the villa and the beach: there is diving, water activities, excursions and Varu Spa.

Island size: 242 × 249 m.

The Nautilus occupies a natural island of about six hectares in the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll. Despite its small size, there is no feeling of dense development: only 26 houses and residences are distributed between the beach and the lagoon.

The island has retained its natural sandy beach and house coral reef, so snorkeling is available directly from the shore. Baa Atoll itself is also interesting: The Nautilus is located near the famous Hanifaru, known for seasonal gatherings of manta rays. The compact island also has three restaurants, a pool bar and a spa, and all villas have private pools.

Milaidhoo Maldives

Island size: 300 × 180 m.

Number of villas: 50 villas and residences.

Atoll: Baa.

Transfer: 35 minutes by seaplane or 15 minutes by domestic flight to Dharavandhoo + 15 minutes by speedboat.

Milaidhoo is slightly larger than the previous islands, but its 5.4 hectares remain a very compact area by Maldivian standards. The resort is located in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and here the size of the island rather helps you stay closer to nature: a white sandy shore surrounds dense tropical greenery, while the house reef begins directly off the coast.

The infrastructure of the small resort is not limited to the beach and villas. Milaidhoo has four restaurants, two bars, an overwater SPA and a PADI diving centre. Water activities and sea excursions are available. Another reason to choose this island is its location near Hanifaru, where people go in season to watch large gatherings of manta rays.

Huvafen Fushi

Island size: about 350 × 150 m.

Number of villas: 46 bungalows and pavilions.

Atoll: North Malé.

Transfer: about 30 minutes by speedboat.

The 5-star Huvafen Fushi resort has an important advantage: this small island is only 26 km from the airport. It can be walked around in about 10-15 minutes, so after an international flight you do not have to choose between seclusion and a complicated transfer.

The residential part extends far into the lagoon - the overwater jetty stretches for about 500 m, so 44 rooms are not concentrated on a small piece of land. The island is green, with a beautiful bounty-style beach and easy access to the coast. There is a house reef for snorkeling and diving, while water activities and boat trips can add variety to a beach holiday. Incidentally, Huvafen Fushi has the world's first underwater spa with panoramic reef views.

Transfer: about 30 minutes by seaplane, or a domestic flight to Maamigili + 25 minutes by speedboat.

Mirihi is distinguished by its unusual shape: with a length of about 350 m, it is only 50 m wide. Here it is impossible to be far from the ocean - the beach, lagoon and tropical greenery are always nearby. Most of the residential villas are built on stilts over the water, so the small area of land does not look overcrowded.

Another argument in favour of Mirihi is its excellent house reef, accessible directly from the island. South Ari also has dozens of dive sites and a marine reserve known for encounters with whale sharks and manta rays. After renovation in 2026, updated overwater villas with pools were opened at the resort. There are also two restaurants on the island, while evenings can be spent in the bar and wine lounge. Mirihi creates excellent conditions for divers and offers signature spa relaxation.

COMO Cocoa Island

Island size: about 350 × 80 m.

Number of villas: 33.

Atoll: South Malé.

Transfer: about 40 minutes by speedboat.

COMO Cocoa Island has an unusual layout: all villas are located over the lagoon, so almost the entire small area of the island itself remains free. There are no rows of beach bungalows - sand and greenery stretch along the shore, while a long wooden jetty leads to the rooms. As a result, the island feels less built-up than might be expected given its compact size.

Another feature of Cocoa Island is a large sandbank that noticeably changes the shape of the shore at low tide. The holiday is mainly centred around the sea: from the terraces of the overwater villas you can step directly into the lagoon, there is a house reef near the island, and a diving centre and water sports centre operate. On land there are a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and COMO Shambhala - the resort's signature wellness centre.

COMO Cocoa Island

Naladhu Private Island Maldives

Size of the island: about 272 × 133 m.

Number of villas: 20 private houses.

Atoll: South Malé.

Transfer: about 30 minutes by speedboat from Velana Airport.

Naladhu occupies a small green island. There is no line of overwater villas extending far into the lagoon: all 20 houses are located directly along the coast. Each covers from 300 m² and has its own pool, so despite the modest size of the island itself, the space around the accommodation is quite generous.

You do not have to spend the entire holiday within one small island. Naladhu guests can use restaurants and part of the infrastructure of the neighbouring Anantara Dhigu Maldives and Anantara Veli Maldives, as well as visit Gulhifushi Picnic Island, which has a beach, a house reef for snorkeling and Tiki Bar. You can travel between the islands by pontoon boat, while Anantara Veli is connected to Naladhu by a walkway. This creates an unusual holiday format: live on a quiet island and go to the neighbouring resorts for restaurants, spa and a more active resort life.
