Lelewatu Resort Sumba Hotel overview

Overview: Lelewatu Resort Sumba is a luxurious cliffside resort located on the west of Sumba, just an hour's flight east of Bali. Surrounded by lush rainforest and boasting a private lagoon, the resort offers breathtaking views over the Indian Ocean. The resort features 27 Sumbanese styled pool villas, ranging in size from 130 sqm to 650 sqm, designed to capture the essence of traditional Sumbanese culture. In addition to its accommodations, Lelewatu Resort offers Bokosawu and Le Humba gourmet restaurants, Maraga Spa, a gym, horse riding track, game room, and an elegant boutique. This resort is designed to provide guests with a serene sanctuary for personal indulgence, romance, and adventure-filled pastimes, all supported by gracious service and a bespoke style of island life.

Services & Facilities: Lelewatu Resort offers a range of specialized experiences for guests to enjoy during their stay, including afternoon tea, cooking classes with the chef, Indonesian Archipelago dinners, exploring Sumbanese culture, national park trekking, children's activities, water sports, fishing, sailing, horse riding, spa experiences, and much more.

Dining: The resort features two distinctive restaurants that serve signature dishes.

  • Bokosawu Restaurant: This main restaurant and bar is open to in-house resort guests only and offers breathtaking views over the ocean. The restaurant's atmosphere is open and casual, featuring custom-made wooden furniture, teal-colored upholstery, and hand-woven Sumbanese ikat fabrics. Guests can enjoy exquisite cuisine by Executive Chef Reno Sabardi, which includes fresh fish and seafood caught daily by Sumbanese seamen, alongside international favorites. The Bokosawu Bar, located under the resort's highest uma mbatangu (Sumbanese peaked house), offers a selection of fabulous cocktail concoctions, as well as bespoke virgin cocktails, fresh pressed juices, home-made Jamu herbal tonics, and a champagne and wine list.
  • Le Humba Restaurant and Lounge: Located high atop the resort, Le Humba is a public restaurant and lounge offering grand views over the resort and the sea. In-house guests and visitors can enjoy specialty cocktails and Sumbanese and Indonesian cuisine. The restaurant serves carefully prepared dishes to international standards, highlighting traditional and on-trend cuts of meat, some of which are hunted in the extensive forests of Sumba. Le Humba also offers Afternoon Tea with a Sumbanese twist to in-house guests and visitors.

Spa and Wellness - Maraga Spa: Inspired by the beauty of Sumbanese architecture and the island's unique resources, Maraga Spa offers a menu of body and beauty rituals using natural products like coconuts, cloves, salt, and other fresh ingredients to nourish the skin. Each treatment is highly personalized to invoke body, mind, and spirit rejuvenation.

Lelewatu Resort Sumba is designed to provide guests with a tranquil and culturally rich experience, surrounded by unspoiled nature and offering a range of activities and services to create unforgettable memories.
