The world-famous Anantara hotels are located across three Maldives atolls: South Malé, Dhaalu and Baa. As in dozens of other countries, Anantara hotels in the Maldives are known for impeccable service. On these islands, you will find resorts rated 5 stars and above. For convenience, we have divided the hotels by atoll.

Naladhu Maldives
Anantara resorts in South Malé Atoll
Among Anantara hotels, the islands of South Malé are located closest to the capital, Malé. You can reach the hotels by speedboat in 20-35 minutes. This is a good option for those arriving in the Maldives after dark, since seaplanes do not operate at that time. If your international flight arrives at night and your onward transfer is by seaplane, you will need to stay overnight in Malé and wait until morning. Speedboats in most cases operate around the clock.
The three Anantara resorts in South Malé Atoll are located next to each other, in one lagoon. You will be able to use the facilities of all three while staying at one of them.
Anantara Dhigu Maldives
The cosy thatched-roof villas of 5-star Anantara Dhigu are the embodiment of a true Maldives holiday. In two words, luxurious classic style: a small green island with coral sand, and on the beach and in the lagoon, one- or two-bedroom villas, with or without a pool. The villas range from 110 to 400 square metres, with panoramic windows and everything needed for a complete holiday. Some categories of overwater villas have glass floor panels.
Available on the island:
- More than 100 overwater and beach villas.
- A total of 7 bars and restaurants.
- A surf school (not every resort has good surf conditions, and schools are not available everywhere).
- Diving and snorkelling centre.
- Spa salon.
- Outdoor shared pool.
- Water sports centre.
- Gym.
- Children’s playrooms.
- Meal plan: breakfast only.
Anantara Dhigu is located literally just a few minutes from Anantara Veli and Naladhu. The latter two are actually connected by a bridge. You will have the chance to visit the other two Anantara resorts and use their facilities. An excellent solution is to spend a few days in one hotel and the rest of your holiday in the neighbouring one.

Anantara Veli Maldives
5-star Anantara Veli is an adults-only resort, which means families with children cannot book a villa here. It is a very popular place for honeymooners. All beach and overwater villas accommodate a maximum of three guests and are ideal for two people. The exterior features the same thatched roofs and light-coloured interiors, but the focus of the hotel is quite different. Everything here is designed for active leisure and entertainment.
Available on the island:
- 7 restaurants and bars. One of them is located on a separate small island - you can get there by boat in just a few minutes.
- A spa centre famous for its luxurious Ayurvedic Shirodhara treatment and signature spa programmes.
- Outdoor pool.
- Tennis court.
- A wide range of water sports.
- Meal plans available at booking: breakfast only, half board, full board, as well as extended versions and standard all inclusive.
Anantara Veli is connected by a bridge to the neighbouring Naladhu resort.

Anantara Veli Maldives
Naladhu Maldives
A 5-star deluxe category hotel. This small island has only 20 villas, all located on the beach. Some of them sit right by the lagoon. This includes the villa category for 6 guests, Ocean House with Pool & Private Beach Cabana. These and the other villas are thought through in every detail: spacious layouts, panoramic windows, a large private pool, and personal butler service. You can even order a spa session directly in your villa.
Available on the island:
- One luxurious restaurant, as well as access to 9 restaurants on the neighbouring islands of Anantara hotels. You can walk to Anantara Veli across the bridge.
- One of the best spas in the Maldives.
- Wine cellar with an excellent collection.
- A very wide choice of entertainment on the neighbouring islands.
- Diving and snorkelling.
- A total of 6 meal plan options to choose from at booking. We recommend taking breakfast only, since the three islands offer a great variety of restaurants and bars.

Naladhu Maldives
Anantara in Dhaalu Atoll
There is only one Anantara hotel in Dhaalu Atoll. It is among our top recommendations in the Maldives. Dhaalu is a remote atoll. It suits travellers coming to the Maldives for a week or longer, as the transfer takes about an hour. A seaplane directly to Niyama Private Islands Maldives takes about 45 minutes from Malé. You can also use domestic flights and then a 10-minute speedboat transfer.
Niyama Private Islands Maldives
Niyama resort is ideal both for families with children and for a romantic holiday for two. The resort is located on two islands connected by a bridge: Play and Chill. Both have recently been fully renovated. Play is more focused on activities, while Chill is designed for laid-back relaxation.
Available at the resort:
- Its own surf spot, as well as instructors and everything needed for surfing. By the way, there are not many places in the Maldives where surfing is possible. Niyama is the only luxury resort where the waves break right on the resort’s shore.
- Diving and snorkelling centre. They are amazing here. The reef is very colourful. Sea turtles will always greet you in the morning.
- Dolphin and turtle safaris. Memorable cruises and excursions await you.
- Dinner at the underwater restaurant Subsix, which belongs to Niyama hotel. By the way, the number of tables is very limited. In season, a table booking can be taken months in advance. When booking your villa, be sure to tell our manager which date you want to visit the underwater restaurant. We will gladly reserve a day for you.
- A total of 9 restaurants and bars on the island offering a wide choice of world cuisines.
- Luxurious overwater spa with a wide selection of treatments and techniques.
- Kids’ club with programmes for different age groups.
- Organisation of incredibly romantic celebrations, especially wedding ceremonies.
- Three meal plans available at booking: breakfast only, half board and full board.
- There are beach and overwater villas, with or without a pool, with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms.
- 24/7 butler service.

Anantara in Baa Atoll
Baa Atoll is not far from Malé. On average, it is 20-30 minutes by seaplane. These places are very beautiful and popular for holidays thanks to the Hanifaru biosphere reserve, which covers a large part of the atoll. Without exaggeration, Baa has the most beautiful lagoons and coral reefs. Feel free to choose any resort in Baa Atoll and excellent snorkelling is guaranteed. Anantara opened one resort here - Kihavah Villas.
Anantara Kihavah Villas
Anantara Kihavah Villas resort has a beautifully shaped oval lagoon. When you step onto the terrace of an overwater villa, all the beauty of the lagoon will be literally beneath your feet. At this resort, it is definitely worth choosing overwater villas if you prefer snorkelling. No less comfortable and luxurious villas are located on the beach, surrounded by green palms with ocean views. All villa types include a private pool.
Available on the island:
- Watching manta rays. Hanifaru Bay is the natural home of a large number of manta rays. They can often be seen near the island.
- Sea underwater restaurant. There are not many places like this on the islands. Be sure to take the chance to dine with a panoramic view of the Maldives lagoon underwater.
- Golden Wall - an iconic place for snorkelling lovers. This is where golden-shaded corals grow.
- Anantara spa, as well as a steam room, pool and individual programmes for spa guests.
- Kids’ club with a wide variety of programmes for children of different ages.
- Open-air cinema - right on the coral beach.
