Dreamland is unlike most other Maldives resorts. It is one of the rare islands that features a freshwater lake. The Maldives are a flat island nation with no mountains, rivers, or inland seas. The landscape consists of small islands scattered across the Indian Ocean, grouped into atolls formed by ancient volcanic activity. Typically, a resort island is only a few hundred meters in diameter, covered with coral sand and palm trees. A freshwater lake is truly a rarity.
Important: The Maldives consist of local islands where the population lives and private resort islands designed exclusively for vacationers. These resorts have only hotel infrastructure.
If you’ve already visited other islands and are looking for something unique, consider Dreamland.

Why visit Dreamland in the Maldives
The presence of a freshwater lake is not the only advantage of Dreamland. Here are several compelling reasons to visit:
- Dreamland is located in Baa Atoll. The underwater beauty of this atoll is unparalleled. It is home to the Hanifaru Reserve, protected by UNESCO. Vibrant, colorful reefs, a variety of fish, and other marine life, including manta rays, make Baa Atoll a top choice for its stunning lagoons. Snorkeling around Dreamland is exceptional. You’ll encounter turtles, reef sharks, manta rays, dolphins…

Diving is prohibited in the Hanifaru Reserve, but snorkeling is allowed. Representatives from dive centers will guide you to excellent diving spots while respecting restrictions. By the way, diving in the Maldives is among the best in the world. Here, you can see not only spectacular marine life but also shipwrecks, unique canyons, and more.
- Beach and overwater villas. Not all Maldives hotels offer overwater villas. At Dreamland, you can book an overwater villa and enjoy snorkeling right from your doorstep.
- The villas do not have private pools, but you can swim in the biotope pool integrated into the freshwater lake. Additionally, the restaurant and other facilities are located along the lake, offering beautiful views of the garden and water lilies from the terrace.
- Spa salon offers a variety of treatment rooms, including couples’ options, with a wide range of massages, wraps, and more.
- Great value for money attracts many tourists to Dreamland, so during peak season, it’s best to book a villa in advance, at least 2–3 months ahead. The high season runs from late December to late March.
- Excellent and varied dining. The island has two bars and two restaurants. Meal plans range from half-board to all-inclusive. Restaurants serve European and Asian cuisine. One restaurant offers panoramic views of the lagoon, while the other overlooks the freshwater lake. Be sure to visit the beach bar in the evening for a stunning sunset view.
- Wide variety of water and land activities: jet skiing, water skiing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and more. The island also offers tennis, a gym, yoga, and Pilates.
