Misool Eco Resort, Raja Ampat

This small resort with a maximum capacity of just 40 guests is located in remote Raja Ampat within the Misool Marine Reserve. It is known for its numerous environmental initiatives aimed at preserving the region's unique nature: from using biodegradable soap and shampoo to supporting a waste recycling project.

Not a single tree was cut down during construction of the resort: the villas and overwater cottages were built from recycled wood. Many buildings have an "alang-alang" roof made of grass.

The culinary concept does not include pork or shrimp dishes. However, four meals a day are provided, with an emphasis on fresh, local and organic products.
