Bali

Known as the "Island of the Gods," Bali is a popular honeymoon destination boasting beautiful beaches, stunning rice terraces, lush tropical forests, and a vibrant culture.

Bali offers a wide range of luxury hotels and villas designed specifically for couples, many of which are located in picturesque locations overlooking the ocean or surrounded by tropical greenery. For example:

  • Samanvaya Adults Only Luxury Resort & Spa (Sidemen): an exclusive resort complex that accepts guests over 14 years old, offering spacious rooms and villas decorated in traditional Balinese style, two infinity pools overlooking rice terraces, a jacuzzi, a hot tub, a restaurant, a spa designed especially for couples, and a yoga studio;
  • PinkCoco (Uluwatu): an unusual hotel, decorated in pink tones and designed for "super-open" guests over 16 years old, accepting and respecting any lifestyle. It has been awarded as the best hotel with a unique concept. Situated 5 minutes’ walk from the beach, it offers guests 28 rooms, a good restaurant, and a spa. One of the highlights of the hotel is The Daring Room: a special room designed especially for daring dates;
  • The Kayon Ubud Resort: a 5-star boutique resort located just ten minutes from the center of Ubud and designed in complete harmony with nature. A stone wall decorated with a relief plot of the Ramayana creates a romantic atmosphere. The age limit for guests is from 15 years. In addition to a restaurant with a beautiful view and a cozy spa, the hotel’s arsenal includes a stunning terrace overlooking a waterfall, as well as a picturesque Balinese-style chapel for the most memorable moments.

Many Bali hotels offer special couples’ packages, including romantic spa treatments and massages, to create a peaceful and relaxing environment.

Bali’s beaches provide stunning sunsets that can be enjoyed together. Romantic walks along the ocean or candlelit dinners on the beach create unforgettable memories. The island also offers many romantic activities such as rice terrace walks, boat rides, and snorkeling for couples to enjoy time together.

Bali is rich in cultural heritage, including traditional dances, temples, and festivals, which also creates a unique and exciting atmosphere for a romantic getaway.

Lombok and the Gili Islands

Lombok is famous for its beautiful beaches, including Senggigi Beach, Kuta Beach, Tanjung Aan Beach, Selong Belanak Beach, and Tangsi Beach (Pink Beach), breathtaking Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls, and, of course, the majestic Mount Rinjani. The island’s surroundings offer excellent surfing and diving spots.

The islands of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air, located off the northwest coast of Lombok, are particularly romantic and offer a more tranquil and secluded atmosphere compared to Bali.

These islands are car-free, so couples can enjoy peaceful walks on white sand beaches, stunning sunsets, and underwater adventures.

Gili Trawangan is the largest and busiest of the three islands. It has everything you need for an active holiday: restaurants, bars, and beach parties. Gili Air is more peaceful, and Gili Meno is a miniature and quiet refuge where you can fully enjoy the silence and nature.

By the way, Gili Trawangan and Gili Air, like Bali, also have PinkCoco hotels, intended only for "cool adults."

How to get there: There are direct boat services from Bali and Lombok.

Bunaken Island

Located in North Sulawesi, Bunaken Island is a paradise for diving couples. Bunaken National Park is considered one of the most famous snorkeling and diving spots in Indonesia. The clear waters surrounding the island are home to an incredible variety of fish, shellfish, reptiles, and marine mammals, and the tranquil atmosphere of the island is conducive to romantic moments. Unlike many commercial islands, Bunaken retains a pristine atmosphere. The locals still lead a simple and natural life, and there are no bars, clubs, or entertainment options like on many tourist islands. However, there are plenty of accommodation options in the area around the National Park, such as:

  • Bunaken Oasis: 6-time winner of the World Travel Awards "Indonesia’s Leading Dive Resort 2023". Built on a steep hillside overlooking the mangroves of Liang Beach, the resort offers 12 large villas built in traditional style, an infinity pool, a cocktail bar with a relaxing atmosphere, a restaurant serving Indonesian and international cuisine, a spa, a library, and a well-equipped dive center;
  • The Village Bunaken Resort: a hotel located in a quiet bay with beautiful mangroves. Between the mangroves and the hotel, there is a small beach where you can walk. In addition, hotel guests can watch dolphins and turtles, enjoying the calm atmosphere of the island. The hotel has a spa and a dive center.

How to get there: By boat from Manado. You can fly to Manado from Bali, Jakarta, or Kuala Lumpur.
