In 2024-2026, several major new openings appeared in the Maldives. Among them are the first resorts from new hotel brands, large family complexes, boutique hotels focused on privacy and luxurious islands offering a completely different level of service. We have selected the most interesting new hotels that are already welcoming guests or have only recently opened their doors.
Rah Gili Maldives
Opening: 2026.
Atoll: South Malé.
Transfer: about 15-20 minutes by speedboat.
Rah Gili Maldives is one of the most anticipated resorts of 2026 and the first project in the new SIX & SIX PRIVATE ISLANDS collection. The resort is located near Malé International Airport, while still creating the feeling of a true uninhabited island. Its concept is built around barefoot luxury, a relaxed holiday without unnecessary formality but with first-class service.
A protected lagoon where dolphins often appear, spacious villas with pools, a personal Edhurun host instead of a traditional butler and numerous nature experiences, from dinners under the stars to sunrise yoga, create a special atmosphere. The resort is suitable for those looking for a modern interpretation of Maldivian luxury.

JW Marriott Kaafu Atoll Island Resort
Opening: 2025.
Atoll: Kaafu.
Transfer: about 15 minutes by speedboat.
The new JW Marriott has become one of the most convenient resorts for a holiday immediately after arrival, as the journey from the airport takes only a few minutes. At the same time, the island does not feel like a city hotel at all: guests are welcomed by spacious villas with private pools, access to the lagoon and snorkelling spots, and a peaceful atmosphere.
The hotel will be especially interesting for families thanks to the Family by JW concept. It has one of the most modern kids' clubs in the Maldives, with a huge playhouse and a full programme of entertainment. Adults can enjoy an overwater spa, restaurants serving cuisines from different parts of the world and the resort's own JW Garden, where herbs and vegetables are grown for the local restaurants.

Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives
Opening: 2025.
Atoll: North Malé.
Transfer: about 40 minutes by speedboat.
Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives has become the flagship resort of the new island concept The Atollia, which brings together two modern Centara resorts. Guests can use part of the infrastructure of the neighbouring Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives, significantly expanding the choice of restaurants, pools and entertainment.
Centara Grand Lagoon itself is focused on a calmer and more premium holiday: spacious villas with pools, a panoramic spa, several signature restaurants and wellness programmes make it especially attractive for couples and those who want to combine a relaxed holiday with a high level of service. Families with children also have access to the large water park, lazy river and other entertainment at the neighbouring resort.

Barceló Nasandhura Malé
Opening: 2025.
Location: Malé.
Transfer: about 10 minutes from Velana International Airport.
Not every holiday in the Maldives begins with a seaplane or a speedboat ride. Barceló Nasandhura Malé offers a completely different format, a modern city hotel that is ideal for a short stop before travelling to the islands or exploring the city on the water. After a major renovation, the legendary Nasandhura has become one of the most notable hotels in the capital of the Maldives, Malé.
Panoramic rooms overlooking the ocean, restaurants on the upper floors, a spacious infinity pool, a spa and a convenient location near the ferry terminal make it an excellent alternative to ordinary transit hotels. You can spend a few days here exploring the capital at a leisurely pace before heading to one of the island resorts.

Meyyafushi Maldives
Opening: 2025.
Atoll: Lhaviyani.
Transfer: seaplane.
Some new resorts focus on scale, while Meyyafushi Maldives has chosen a different path, showing the Maldives as first-time visitors dream of seeing them. A large lagoon with clear water, wide beaches, coral gardens near the island and spacious villas create the classic image of a tropical island, complemented by modern architecture and well-planned infrastructure.
Special attention at the resort is given to gastronomy: several restaurants serve cuisines from different countries, while many dishes are prepared with fresh seafood and local products. Meyyafushi is equally suitable for couples and families looking for the secluded atmosphere of the classic Maldives.

Soneva Secret
Opening: 2024.
Atoll: Haa Dhaalu.
Transfer: seaplane.
Soneva Secret has become a new and exclusive resort in the Soneva collection and one of the most private in the Maldives. There are only 14 villas on the island, each with its own pool and a personal team that looks after guests throughout their stay. One of the unusual categories is a floating overwater villa that can only be reached by boat.
Despite the intimate format, the infrastructure is impressive: several signature restaurants, including an unusual tower for dining among the treetops, an observatory for stargazing, the Soneva Soul spa, and water sports and diving centres. The resort is designed for guests who value personalised service and privacy.

Raaya by Atmosphere
Opening: 2024.
Atoll: Raa.
Transfer: about 45 minutes by seaplane.
Raaya by Atmosphere is one of the most unusual new resorts in the Maldives, inspired by the story of the fictional artist and traveller Seb, who supposedly found himself on an uninhabited island. This idea can be seen throughout the resort, from the villa design to art installations and walking routes. At the same time, it remains a full five-star resort with extensive infrastructure: more than 160 beach and overwater villas, six restaurants and bars, a large ELE|NA spa, fitness club, padel court, water sports centre, diving, kids' club and even its own skate park, a rarity for the Maldives.
Another advantage of Raaya by Atmosphere is the premium RAAYA Plan package, which includes meals, drinks, selected excursions and entertainment, making holiday expenses as predictable as possible.

Villa Haven
Opening: 2024.
Atoll: South Ari.
Transfer: about 30 minutes by seaplane.
Villa Haven has become the new flagship jewel of the Maldivian Villa Resorts collection and focuses not on scale but on a peaceful atmosphere and elegant design. The resort combines spacious beach and overwater villas with pools, decorated with natural wood, stone and other natural materials. Guests have access to several restaurants serving international and Asian cuisine, cosy lounge bars, a modern spa, fitness centre, tennis courts and a water sports centre.
Thanks to the resort's location in South Ari Atoll, it is convenient to join excursions to see whale sharks, which are found here almost all year round. Villa Haven makes it possible to combine a peaceful holiday at a new resort with the opportunity to discover one of the best regions of the Maldives for snorkelling and diving.
