How about breakfast with a lion, or an overnight stay with a view of an African safari? Or maybe you want to hand-feed giraffes? All these opportunities will be offered by the incredible zoo in Bali.
Bali Safari and Marine Park is part of the large Indonesian Taman Safari network. Its main philosophy is to move away from the concept of a traditional zoo with cramped cages and create a habitat for animals that is as close as possible to natural conditions. Here you do not simply walk from one enclosure to another. The main adventure is a journey through the "wild nature" on a special safari tram.
A fresh addition to the park is Marine Safari Park - a new zone with marine ecosystems. More precisely, it is a whole collection of recreated ecosystems - from freshwater rivers and tropical forests to coral reefs.

Main attractions of the park
Let us look at which offers of the park are the most attractive for guests.
Safari Journey
This is the signature feature and the main attraction of the park. You get into a comfortable air-conditioned tram with panoramic windows and go on a journey through three "continents": Indonesia, India and Africa. On board, an experienced guide tells interesting facts about the animals you meet. The animals here walk freely across huge territories. You will see deer, curious ostriches, graceful giraffes, zebras, hippos, lions and even leopards! Tourists are delighted when the animals come very close to the tram, and only a glass partition separates them from people.
- When: open from 09:00 to 17:15.
- Included in the price of the basic entrance ticket.

Night Safari
When darkness falls, you get into a specially equipped cage-bus and head into the dark jungle. The roles change places - now you are in the cage, and the predators are outside! The bus stops, and the ranger starts feeding the animals through the bars. At one moment you may be feeding friendly zebras and elephants with carrots, and at another you may feel the breath of a huge tiger, because the predator comes very close. An adrenaline rush is guaranteed!
- When: in the evening, usually a separate ticket is required.

Animal shows and theatrical performances
Several spectacular shows take place in the park, which not only entertain, but also tell about the importance of species conservation.
Animal Educational Presentation. During this show, exotic marine animals, and even orangutans, demonstrate their talents. Afterward, you can take a photo with an orangutan.
Harimau Show - "From predator to prey". A very spectacular presentation that debunks myths about tigers as bloodthirsty killers, telling about their role in Indonesian culture and the threat of their disappearance.
Elephant Educational Presentation. Sumatran elephants demonstrate their abilities.
Bali Agung Show. This is not just a show, but a grand theatrical production in a huge indoor theater with 1200 seats. The performance involves more than 150 Balinese dancers, musicians, and even elephants and camels. It tells an ancient legend about a king and a goddess. Bright costumes, impressive scenery and live music immerse you in the world of Balinese myths. It is held according to a specific schedule.
"Varuna" show. An underwater theatrical masterpiece. Imagine a dinner where the stage is not wooden boards, but a mass of turquoise water. Instead of actors - graceful mermaids and mysterious sea creatures, and the scenery is created by the ocean itself. This is "Varuna" - a unique underwater theatrical dinner of its kind, which is one of the main gems of Marine Safari Park. You dine at a table in a cozy hall with huge acrylic panels, behind which the underwater world stretches out. Professional artists in incredibly beautiful costumes transform into marine creatures. The menu is carefully thought out. The cost for foreigners is about 80-115 dollars.

Dinner with lions and a night in the safari lodge
This is one of the park's main "highlights". You dine in Tsavo Lion restaurant, with panoramic glass walls, and right behind the glass a pride of lions walks around. You can take incredible selfies with the king of the jungle, though through the glass, while enjoying exquisite dishes. The restaurant offers Western and Balinese cuisine. Be sure to try the signature dessert - banana flambé, which the chef prepares right at your table. A funny fact: even in the restaurant toilet one of the walls is glass and looks out onto the enclosure with lions!
For complete immersion in the safari atmosphere, you can stay overnight directly at the hotel Mara River Safari Lodge on the territory of the park. These are bungalows with thatched roofs, from whose balconies there is a view of the "African savannah". In the room, a basket with carrots will be waiting for you, which you can throw to the animals. This is an incredible experience, especially for children. Lodge guests can also enjoy a pool with a view of the animals and have exclusive access to the park. The cost of an overnight stay is about 200 dollars.
