Some Maldivian resorts accept guests to visit on a days or day system pass. This is very convenient, because there is an opportunity to see several Maldivian resorts. And this type of holiday is also popular among those who travel to the Maldives islands by cruise ships.

What is day use or day pass

This is a day pass that allows non-hotel guests to experience spa life. Spend the whole day on the resort island, enjoying excellent service (except for a hotel room).

Resorts do not always offer their guests all inclusive. When choosing a resort for a day trip, you should focus on a few points:

• If the resort is far away from you, then the move itself can cost more than the cost of a day pass.
• Free transfer to the resorts is carried out from Male, Hulhumale and the airport in Male. If you are in another location, check in advance how far the resorts are from you. If you are planning to get into the outback of the Maldives, it is more convenient to stay in Male first, having planned a trip to the resort. So the transfer will be free.
• Usually the time of stay on the resort island is from 9:00 to 18:00. But sometimes the return flight may be later.
• Resort departure times may vary. It depends on the transfer: tourists are picked up from different hotels. Therefore, the time of departure and arrival may differ slightly from the declared.
• Most importantly, pay attention to what is included in the day package use.

Some hotels offer only the use of infrastructure. That is, you get a beach, sun loungers, use of showers and pools and other services. But meals in restaurants are paid. Their cost, of course, is higher than the prices in local cafes. But these are establishments of a much higher class than restaurants on local islands.

What to bring to the resort

• The main thing is to take a camera or a phone with a good camera with you: a lot of bright photos are waiting for you at the resort!
• Take a change of clothes, swimwear, flip flops.
• If you feel sick, don't forget your seasickness medicine: the transfer is by speedboat.
• Take sunscreen, coral slippers.

What a day at the resort looks like

• They come to your chosen location. If you are in a hotel in Male or Hulhumale, a minibus pulls up, which then brings you to the speedboat parking lot.
• Transfer can take 15-30 minutes. After that, you get to the paradise islands, you are greeted with welcome drinks and introduced to the resort.
• You can absolutely freely explore the island, look into all corners, except for private villas.
• Upon arrival at the island, you will be put on a colored bandage, which gives a sign to the hotel staff that you have purchased a day use.
• Usually hotels provide free WiFi. So ask for the password immediately at the reception upon arrival.
• If the hotel offers meals, check with the reception about the time of lunch and in which bars and restaurants they serve it. Lunch at the resorts is a large selection of delicacies both local and international dishes, freshly prepared seafood.
• Some resorts offer to try water activities for free, but you often need to pay extra for them.
• When the evening comes, when you meet the sunset with drinks, take spectacular photos.
• Watch a musical performance of the boduberu. Participate in other activities - each resort has its own individual entertainment.
• Check out the souvenir shop and in the evening a motorboat will take you to your hotel.

Tip: If you decide to celebrate your honeymoon at the hotel, book a table in one of the restaurants. You can usually find the menu on the website of the chosen hotel.
