Seychelles is known for its paradise beaches with granite boulders, and lush tropics, but not everyone knows that here you can also play golf! Exotic islands even hosted golf championships, because here is a world-class course.
There are two golf clubs in the Seychelles. Seychelles Golf Club is located on the main island of Mahe. The other, The Lemuria Golf Course, is on Praslin, Seychelles' second largest island.

Seychelles Golf Club, Mahe
On the main island of Seychelles you will have the opportunity to try a favorite occupation of aristocrats. Once there was a mangrove swamp along with a coconut plantation, but since the 1970s the area has turned into a 9-hole golf course. It is located in Anse-au-Pen on the southeast side of Mahe, just 10 minutes from the airport in Pointe-Laru. The club is surrounded by lush green hills and stretches over 50 acres.
The field is open daily from 8:00 a.m. No booking is required except on Thursday and Saturday. The entry fee for 9 holes is 300 SCR ($21), and for 18 holes - 500 SCR ($35). The club allows temporary membership (from one to four weeks). There is a bar, billiard table, cafe-restaurant, which serves snacks, fast food, full lunches, tennis courts and a swimming pool.
Although there are 9 holes on the club territory (the pitch from the start to the hole flag), you can play a full round of 18 holes. To do this, you go through the same 9 holes twice, but start each hole a second time from a slightly different location (special launch pads).
- The field may not seem very long, it is quite insidious for beginners and even experienced players: the main game paths (fairway) leading to the holes are quite narrow.
- The ball after the first blow on each hole usually does not roll very far down the grass, which requires more accurate subsequent blows.
- Areas with short-cut grass around the holes themselves (called "greens"), where the ball is rolled into the hole, - They are small in size, which makes it difficult to reach them.
Due to these features, it can be more difficult to pass the field for steam (the expected number of shots for a good player, here - 67 shots on 18 holes) than it seems at first glance.

Lemuria Golf Course, Praslin
The most famous and prestigious field in the archipelago is the Lemuria Golf Course on the island of Praslin. This is a unique 18-hole world-class field located on the grounds of a luxury hotel - Constance Lemuria. The field was designed by the famous American architect Rodney Wright, with the help of French champion Marc Antoine Farry. It was opened in 2000, and the last renovation was carried out in 2016.
- Length: about 5580 m
- Number of holes: 18
- Par: 70
Since 2018, Lemuria Golf Course has hosted the final of the MCB Tour Championship, a professional tournament for players over 50 under the auspices of the Staysure Tour. This stage became the crown of the season and instantly gained popularity among golfers and spectators. It also hosts the second part of the Staysure Tour final. Therefore, playing on the field is an opportunity for everyone to follow in the footsteps of the champions of the discipline and try themselves on a track that has received critical acclaim.
- The first 12 holes are located above the wide greens of Grand Ens Kerlan, and the last six holes rise on the hill, offering spectacular views.
- The field perfectly fits into the tropical landscape: Fervei lie among coconut palms, granite boulders and jungles, and breathtaking views of Anse Georgette Beach and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean create a unique atmosphere.
- Conventionally, the field is divided into two parts: the front 12 holes - more "technical", pass among the plains and lagoons, in a typical park style. The back 6 holes are extreme mountain golf, with steep ups and downs. Lunches 13-18 are very hilly.
- The 15th hole is especially appreciated by golfers: an elevated starting point, a flag located 175 meters further and 50 meters lower, and above all this a breathtaking panorama of the ocean. This is one of the most photographed holes in the world.
- The 18th hole - no less spectacular, offers views of the tropics.
- The most difficult are the 7th hole (411 m, par 4) and the 4th (386 m, par 4): both under the influence of strong winds, require accurate blows through the water.
- The 13th hole marks the beginning of a difficult "mountain" part - any miss leads to failure.
The field opens at 8:30 a.m. The lowest prices for green on weekdays are 1,850 SCR ($130), and on weekends 1,750 SCR ($123). The highest fee for green is SCR 2180 (over $150).

The resort is quieter and more secluded than the partner hotel - Constance Ephelia Mahe. It is elegantly inscribed in the granite slope of the island. Hotel beaches
This resort has a unique advantage - direct access to two different beaches with fine as powder, white sand. Little Anse Kerlan (Retite) beckons calm, emerald water, and the Big Anse Kerlan (Grande), on the contrary, open to all the winds and strong currents of the ocean. But it was this wild coast that became a haven for sea turtles. During the nesting season on the beach you can witness the hatching of tiny turtles! The resort staff explains how to behave when meeting these rare and amazing creatures, so as not to disturb or harm.
Praslin itself is an island of peace and tranquility. However, there is a caveat: the hotel is close to the airport, so serenity sometimes disrupts the hum of aircraft.
