Vallée de Mai National Reserve

The Vallée de Mai nature reserve is a paradise for wildlife lovers and photographers. This palm forest spreads over an area of more than 19.5 hectares. Praslin Museum

Praslin Museum is one of the best ways to discover the cultural and historical makeup of the Seychelles. Dedicated to art and folk traditions, this museum is not run by the state, but by an enthusiast who decided to devote two rooms of his house to exhibitions of photographs and objects from the colonial period. There is also a collection of rare medicinal herbs and plants that grow only in the Seychelles . Some of them help fight diabetes! Pearl farm in Praslin

On the island of Praslin in the Seychelles there is a unique Black Pearl farm, the only pearl farm in the Indian Ocean. Here visitors can see how a pearl is born and even buy some jewelry for themselves!

The farm was founded by a Norwegian family many years ago and they have long been involved in aquaculture and marine development. Today the farm is a complex that includes incubators, trays, jewelry workshops and a pearl jewelry store. The pearl farm itself is a body of water, which, unfortunately, is closed to visitors. But guests can watch the process of creating pearls and get acquainted with its processing.

To obtain cultured pearls, the farm uses the Pinctada black-lipped oyster Margaritifera . They also breed giant Tridacna clams. Maxima , which are rare species and are listed as endangered.

After a tour of the farm, visitors can visit the Pearl Gallery store and workshop, which offers a wide selection of pearl jewelry. All of them are created by hand by local jewelers.

Farmed pearls are not necessarily black. There are all shades, from light silver to dark gray, as well as green, pink, purple, blue, copper, bronze and gold. Pearls have different shapes: round, oval, teardrop , button and baroque.

The course is huge, overlooking three stunning beaches and the expanse of the stunning Indian Ocean. It was designed by world-renowned American architect Rodney Wright and is the first and only par 18 golf course in the Seychelles. The first 12 holes are located in the Grande Anse Kerlan valley , while the last 6 holes are elevated on small slopes with spectacular views.
