But if for some, preparing a suitcase is an inspiring process, others consider it a boring and tiring  task, and sometimes they cannot decide on the choice of clothes that can be useful during the trip. Especially if you visit the country for the first time.

To facilitate the process of packing your suitcase, we have prepared a checklist of belongings to help you make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable holiday in Cyprus.

The documents

The most important thing to take with you on any trip is your documents. Before leaving the house, make sure you don’t forget:

  • passports, insurance and documents confirming the reservation of accommodation;
  • tickets;
  • birth certificate of the child;
  • credit cards and cash, loyalty program cards;
  • driving license if you plan to rent a car;
  • hotel contacts, other important addresses and phone numbers;
  • guides and maps.

Clothes and shoes for different occasions

If you are going to spend your holidays in Cyprus, put the following wardrobe items in your luggage:

  • Casual clothes. If you plan to visit restaurants or nightclubs, then outfits for the appropriate occasions.
  • Clothing from the sun. If the vacation program includes visits to historical monuments or other excursions that involve prolonged exposure to the sun, think of clothing that, if necessary, can cover your shoulders and other parts of the body from active sunlight.
  • Hats for protection from the sun on the beach and during excursions.
  • Casual shoes for the beach and going out. If the holiday program includes long walks, for example, a visit to Akamas Peninsula, we recommend taking sneakers or other light and comfortable sports shoes.
  • Beachwear, swimwear and aqua shoes. You don’t need the last one if you plan to visit only sandy beaches. But if you intend to visit pebbly beaches, coral slippers may come in handy.

  • A windbreaker, light jumper, or other long-sleeve clothing for chilly, windy evenings.
  • Sunglasses and a case for them.

First aid kit, sun protection

When choosing medications for the trip, give preference to proven products and complete your first aid kit with the following:

  • disinfectant, plasters, etc;
  • painkillers and antipyretics;
  • medications from cold and throat lozenges;
  • remedies for the common cold;
  • allergy medications;
  • cream for mosquito bites and other insects;
  • pills for motion sickness;
  • medications for digestive disorders;
  • enzyme medications;
  • sunscreens or sprays, sunburn products;
  • SPF lip balm;
  • an electronic thermometer if you are traveling with children.

But no matter how well you fill your first-aid kit, if the sickness continues, you should not get involved in long-term self-treatment. It is better to address to professionals. Good medical insurance will provide you with such an opportunity.

Gadgets

Since technology is an integral part of our lives, and a full complete vacation is unimaginable without memorable photos and videos, do not forget to take with you:

  • phones, tablets, GoPro camera, other favourite gadgets and chargers for them;
  • a tripod if you like to take pictures and be photographed;

Another small but very important item in your luggage can be an outlet adapter, as most Cypriot hotels have type G plugs. An adapter will be needed to use electrical appliances or gadgets brought with you. You can take it from home, buy it on the spot or rent it at the hotel reception for a small deposit, which will be returned to you upon departure.

Book hotels in Cyprus in advance. So it's better for the price.

If you are traveling with a child

Traveling with children always has its own specialities. In addition to all the necessary and usual means for hygiene and caring for the baby, put his favourite toys in your luggage, which can be used by the child both during the trip and on the beach. But don't take too much. Sleeves, rubber rings, balls, water pistols, sandbox sets and other summer outdoor toys can be purchased locally at reasonable prices.

But what should not be ignored is clothing that will help protect children's skin from the sun. So, a children's bathing suit (jumpsuit) with UV protection dries quickly and protects the baby from excessive exposure to sunlight.

It is important to note that some hotels, for example, the 5-star Annabelle Hotel, can provide the necessary goods for babies on request: from diapers and sterilizers to strollers. However, additional charges may apply for these services.

Always at hand

If you're sensitive to sound and light, or if you're looking for some level of comfort on the road, don't forget to pack a travel pillow, eye mask, and earplugs.

Also, cosmetic and hygiene items, wet wipes and a disinfectant can be useful on the way.
