Inconsistency, warmth and rainfall - these are the characteristics of the Maldives in November. November in the Maldives is an intermediate period between the humid southwest and dry northeast monsoons. Holidays during this period have its own characteristics, which will be discussed in this article.
Weather in Maldives in November
The official rainy season is ending, but the weather is still unpredictable. A tropical downpour may suddenly replace the bright sun, and then the clouds rapidly disperse, again giving way to the sun's rays. Knowing these local climates, some 4-star and 5-star resorts provide their guests with umbrellas and even raincoats during their holidays.
Despite the high probability of rain, on average, visitors to the islands can enjoy the sun for 6 hours a day. However, given the geographical location of the Maldives, even in cloudy weather, sunscreen should not be neglected.
- Daytime air temperature: stably remains at about 30 degrees.
- Air temperature at night: does not drop below 25 degrees.
- Water temperature: remains at around 28-29 degrees.

Best places to stay in November in the Maldives
In comparison with October, the weather in Laviani and Raa atolls is noticeably improving. The number of rainy days is slightly reduced, and the winds subside, which makes these places quite attractive for late autumn holidays.
Haa Alifu Atoll maintains a balance between sunny and rainy days. A third of sunny days throughout the month, a light pleasant breeze and a relatively small amount of rainfall during this period give local resorts an additional advantage over other atolls.
On the Male Atolls, cloudy days prevail during this period (about 50%). The predicted rainfall is about 250 millimeters, which equates to about 15 rainy days per month. November (as well as October) is one of the rainiest months of the year here. However, the winds in November are quite moderate here and, as a rule, do not exceed 4 m / s.
For Addu Atoll, November is one of the rainiest and windiest months of the year. So, for 14 rainy days there are only 7 sunny days, with an average wind speed of 4.6 m / s.
Approximately the same ratio of fine to rainy days in the Baa and Maafushi atolls, but the winds during this period are not as strong as in the Addu atoll.

Diving in the Maldives in November
For lovers of outdoor activities in the Maldives in November, the weather also dictates its own conditions. Since November in the Maldives is considered a transitional month between two seasons, the weather conditions here are unpredictable not only on land but also at sea. Currents, like visibility, can be changeable, but this is by no means an obstacle for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. Local dive centers that organize safaris have noticed an increase in demand for dive tours since November and recommend booking such trips in advance.
In Hanifaru Bay, manta rays are coming to an end. However, do not be upset about this. After all, manta rays, sharks and turtles are found in the Maldives all year round. The underwater world here is so rich and varied that wherever you look, something interesting will happen everywhere.
