Things to do in Mauritius in autumn

Mauritius offers many ways to fill your holiday with impressions.

Beaches and lagoons

The coasts are the main reason why many travelers visit the island. Beaches in Mauritius - with clean sand and warm turquoise water, they create ideal conditions for relaxation and a seaside holiday. There are 58 official beaches on the island, and all of them are in free public access.

Among the most famous:

  • Trou aux Biches - a beach in the north-western part of Mauritius offers a calm sea and ideal conditions for snorkeling, especially for families with children: corals and fish are located not far from the shore, and the ocean is calm and transparent.
  • Tamarin - one of the most famous beaches of Mauritius, popular among surfers and windsurfers, for which it is often called Surfer Beach. There can be waves up to 2 meters here and the iconic surf spots Dal and Black Rock are located here. Swimming can be complicated by strong currents, so the beach is more suitable for active holidays rather than for families with children. The beach is famous for spectacular sunrises and sunsets, picturesque mountain views and the Black River flowing into the ocean.
  • Ile aux Cerfs - a picturesque islet with an equipped beach and rich entertainment, including water attractions, small restaurants and even a golf course.
