From a weather point of view, December is not the best time to visit the Seychelles. During this period, the northwestern trade winds reign here, bringing heavy rains. And frequent, heavy rainfall does not stop many travelers who want to escape the European winter and spend the Christmas holidays on the picturesque Seychelles beaches, surrounded by clear ocean waters.

What to do in Seychelles in December
Fishing
The Seychelles offers travelers excellent fishing spots. Hotels and guest house owners organize fishing tours for their guests, and the period from October to May is considered the best time for this type of leisure activity, since it is during these months that most fish species become active. In December in particular, there is a good chance of catching barracuda and marlin, mahi-mahi and grouper, wahoo and yellowfin tuna.

Diving and snorkeling
The Seychelles has several marine parks, including Baie Ternay Marine Park , Ile Cocos , Curieuse Marine National Park , Port Launay Marine Park and Ste . Anne Marine National Park . While visiting these parks, lovers of snorkeling and diving can expect a fascinating acquaintance with the inhabitants of the underwater kingdom.
And the marine life around Seychelles is rich and varied. In addition to schools of tropical reef fish, it is home to giant moray eels and rays, barracudas and wrasses, groupers, whale sharks and, of course, turtles, which are a kind of calling card of the Seychelles.
Wreck diving is also possible, including twin barges, the British tanker Ennerdale, and the fishing boat Aldebaran , confiscated by the coast guard for illegal fishing in Seychelles waters.

Walk through the botanical garden
Given the risks of sudden downpours, December is not an ideal month for hiking, as mountain trails can be wet and slippery.
But a leisurely walk through the picturesque Botanical Garden, located in Mont Fleury, not far from the Seychelles capital Victoria, will certainly give nature lovers vivid photos and no less vivid impressions. In addition to the famous Coco palms de Mer, in its well-kept grounds, there are many spice and fruit trees, most of which can only be seen in this garden. There are also colonies of fruit bats and, of course, giant turtles that you can feed. A visit to the Botanical Garden can be combined with a visit to Victoria. Stroll through the small streets, explore the local attractions and end your busy day in one of the cozy local restaurants.
