Seychelles is not only a perfect place for romantics and photographers, but also an interesting destination for kitesurfers of different levels. Thanks to the good climate, clear water and variety of locations, both beginners and more experienced riders can enjoy riding here.

Which season to choose
The south-east trade wind season - from May to September - is ideal for kitesurfing. The wind is steady, which creates good conditions for riders. In August, the wind is especially stable and strong.
The north-west monsoon season - from November to March - brings softer winds, which are suitable for beginners and for those who like to spend time on the water in a more relaxed way. April is considered the least windy month, so flying to Seychelles only for kiting at that time is not recommended.

Best kite spots in Seychelles
If you are looking for kitesurfing spots in Seychelles, start with the three main islands. Want flat water for practice or steady wind with waves? You can find both here.
Mahe island:
- Au Cap - suitable for both beginners and advanced riders: there are waves as well as a flat lagoon. The best time for kiting is from May to September.
- Anse Aux Pins - a shallow and uncrowded lagoon protected by a reef, ideal for learning.

Praslin island:
- Grand Anse - a large beach and lagoon that combine waves on the reef with calm inner water. This location, where races and competitions are held, is great for kiting both during the south-east trade winds and in the north-west monsoon season.
- Côte d’Or - the waters along this wide beach are well suited for foiling. The best time to visit is November-March.

La Digue island:
- Anse Source d’Argent - a photogenic spot with a good combination of flat water and waves. It requires attention to the tides for a safe start, but you can ride here almost all year round.

Where to stay
The kitesurfing infrastructure in Seychelles, compared with surfing, is rather modest. There is no wide choice of hotels with kite packages here, as in some other tourist destinations. However, there are accommodation options located near the key beaches and offering easy access to the ocean. These include:
- Le Duc de Praslin - a 5-star hotel stretched along Côte d’Or beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Seychelles. The hotel has received many awards and is among the best hotels in Seychelles. Guests can enjoy comfortable rooms and villas with private pools, 2 restaurants, bars, a fitness centre and a rooftop spa pavilion.
- Paradise Sun Hotel Seychelles - a 4-star resort hotel located on Côte d’Or beach, Praslin. It offers beach bungalows decorated in a French-Creole style, good food, a spa centre, as well as a wide range of activities for adults and children, including water развлечения.
- Le Nautique Luxury Waterfront Hotel - a 4-star hotel on La Digue island. Spacious rooms by the ocean, a beachfront restaurant and a swimming pool. Bicycle rental is available at the hotel, and guests can comfortably explore the island.
- Petit Baie Chalets - cosy colonial-style chalets located along the coast of Au Cap, on the south-east coast of Mahe. Wonderful views of the ocean and mountains. Each chalet has a living and dining area, as well as a kitchen with the necessary amenities.
Some of the hotels may arrange kitesurfing lessons or equipment rental for their guests. However, such services may not be listed on the official website and require a personal request.
In addition, the Surfhouse Seychelles surfing school operates on the islands of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. And although its main focus is surfing and SUP lessons, on individual request they may also offer other types of active water recreation.

Why it is worth trying kitesurfing in Seychelles
- A full-body workout. Kiting uses the whole body: controlling the kite strengthens the arms and shoulders, while balancing on the board works the core and leg muscles. It is an excellent cardio activity with elements of coordination and endurance.
- A reset. Freedom of movement, the sound of wind and water, concentration on the moment - all this reduces stress and helps you switch off from everyday hustle.
- Connection with nature. Seychelles is the perfect place to feel the power and beauty of the ocean. Riding surrounded by picturesque granite formations, palms and turquoise water, you literally merge with the natural elements.
- Mild climate and clear water. Seychelles is warm all year round. There are no extreme conditions here: the trade wind season brings steady wind, and the water remains comfortable even in the low season.
- Space for growth and overcoming yourself. Learning kiting means learning to fall and get back up. It is a discipline that develops confidence, persistence and adaptability.
- It is simply fun!
